One dead, several wounded as suicide attack hits Antalya's Kemer

30 September 2011 / TODAYSZAMAN.COM,
A suicide bomber blew himself up near a gendarmerie command in the Kemer district of the coastal province of Antalya on Friday, killing himself and injuring several others, initial reports said.

The explosion reportedly took place in front of the Göynük Gendarmerie Command. It was not immediately clear how many people were injured and whether there were other fatalities.

The attack may have been staged by the Kurdistan Freedom Falcons (TAK), a terrorist group known to be an offshoot of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).

Last month, the TAK threatened attacks targeting civilians and tourists, saying it will now launch “all-out” attacks in response to recent military strikes targeting the PKK.
