Police has arrested 19 villagers on Monday suspected of aiding an attack on a gendarmerie post in southeastern province of Siirt on Saturday by members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) that killed six Turkish soldiers and injured 11.

State-run Anatolia news agency reported on Monday that multi-dimensional investigation into the Siirt attack on Saturday continues in the area.

As part of the investigation, Siirt Gendarmerie Command arrested four suspects in the latest wave of raids in Pervari district of Siirt late on Monday and the total number of arrests reached to 19.

In Saturday’s skirmish, three PKK members were also killed. The Anatolia said one of the terrorists was Iraqi citizen.
