Temperatures to fall across Turkey this week as autumn arrives

The high temperatures that have been prevailing in most parts of the country are expected to decrease this week and are expected to fall by 4 to 5 degrees Celsius across Turkey from Thursday onwards.

The first rain of fall is set arrive in the country from Greece on Wednesday and will affect the northwest. Heavy rains will hit İstanbul and the whole Marmara region on Thursday as well as the Aegean and Mediterranean region.

Central parts of the country, including Ankara and Eskişehir, will experience torrential rain on Thursday. The rainy weather will continue in the central Anatolian region on Friday and is expected to leave the country over the weekend.

Temperatures across the country are expected to be around 30 degrees until Wednesday, but will decrease to around 23 degrees by Thursday and will be around 23 to 25 degrees across the country until the end of September.

Temperatures in İstanbul are expected to be around 29 degrees on Tuesday. The city, which has not seen rain since August, will have rain on Thursday and Friday. Temperatures will fall as low as 23 degrees.

The weather in Ankara will be sunny for a couple more days, but rain will arrive in the city on Wednesday. In October, temperatures are expected to be above seasonal averages in the central Anatolian and the eastern region and around the seasonal average in the Marmara and Aegean regions.
