Ceylan’s ‘Anatolia’ to get Turkish premiere in Adana
Turkish auteur Nuri Bilge Ceylan’s Cannes Grand Prix-winning crime drama “Bir Zamanlar Anadolu’da” (Once Upon a Time in Anatolia) will have its Turkish premiere in Adana this fall, news agencies reported Monday.
The film will have its first-ever screening in Turkey as part of this year’s Altın Koza (Golden Boll) International Film Festival, the Anatolia news agency reported. Altın Koza will mark its 18th edition from Sept. 17-25 in the southern city. The film’s producer Zeynep Özbatur Atakan, co-writers Ebru Ceylan and Ercan Kesal, director of photography Gökhan Tiryaki, as well as director Ceylan and cast members Muhammet Uzuner, Yılmaz Erdoğan, Taner Birsel, Ahmet Mümtaz Taylan and Cansu Demirci are expected to be in attendance in the premiere, scheduled for Sept. 21. The film will be released in Turkish theaters following its Altın Koza debut, Anatolia said. “It’s an honor for Adana to host the Turkish premiere of Nuri Bilge Ceylan’s latest film,” the festival organizers said.
