Bulgaria plans wire fence along border with Turkey

Bulgaria has said it will build a wire fence along its border with Turkey to stop the spread of foot-and-mouth disease.
The government said Thursday the fence will be completed on the 210-kilometer (131 mile) border by October. During the Cold War, the border had a barbed-wire fence. Bulgaria joined NATO in 2004 and most of the fence was removed.
