‘Honey, I just fell out of a plane,’ says man to wife over the phone

An engineer who was ejected from a Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) plane conducting a test flight in Ankara on Thursday phoned his wife to say, “Honey, I just fell out of a plane.”
When the TAI plane rolled over, the seat ejection mechanism at the back of the plane was accidentally activated, flinging the engineer out of the aircraft.
The man, whose parachute was released, landed in the vicinity of Beypazarı and called his wife shortly thereafter, telling her that he had just fallen out of a plane.
Emergency teams transferred the man to a hospital after his wife notified the gendarmerie of the incident. He sustained minor scratches.
Investigations into the incident are continuing.
