Libyan National Council calls on Turkey to condemn mercenaries' battling against people

The Libyan National Council, set up by the opposition groups in Libya as a provisional council, has called on Turkey to condemn mercenaries' battling against civilian people in north African country.

The Council's deputy leader Abdel Hafidh Ghoga told the Anatolia news agency that the opponents had taken control of nearly 75 percent of the country as the unrest entered its third week.

The uprising has one target which is prevalence of people's will, he said, adding that Libyan people wanted Moammar Gadhafi to leave power immediately.

He vowed that their struggle would continue till they reached their goal.

Ghoga said that Gadhafi kept the capital Tripoli thank to his mercenaries and special units, adding that their men would beat Gadhafi's units and save Tripoli soon.

He said that Turkish authorities asked them whether they needed anything, and welcomed Turkey's helpful attitude.

Ghoga asked Turkey to recognize Libyan people's revolution and extend support to them.

The council was formed the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi on February 27, 2011. A few days later, the council declared itself as the country's only legitimate representative. It includes 31 representatives for most of the regions in Libya. The council said that its main missions were to represent all of Libya internationally, liberate the country, draft a constitution and hold elections.
