Kimse Yok Mu (Is Anybody There) is taking the lead among these charitable organizations. The NGO has plans to deliver the meat of almost 15,000 cattle and sheep to 70,000 families, contributing more than 20 percent of the aid from Turkey. The Humanitarian Aid Foundation (İHH) comes right after Kimse Yok Mu with 10,100 animals to be sacrificed in the country. The Religious Affairs Directorate has collected donations amounting to $70 million, which is expected to be enough for 3,200 sacrificial animals for people in need.
In its worst natural disaster in history, Pakistan sustained a heavy blow from disastrous flooding a couple of months ago as a result of which 2,000 people died and over 8.5 million lost their homes, according to official numbers.
Donations will also be distributed to the needy in the country through Turkish schools operating there. What are called Pak-Turk schools have collected donations for sacrificial animals from Turkey to deliver red meat to 90,000 families in Pakistan. The National Brotherhood Association (UKD), which was established by Turkish volunteers following a deadly earthquake in Pakistan in 2005, will also play a major role in delivering aid to Pakistanis during Eid al-Adha this year. The organization is planning to slaughter over 10,000 animals for the people of the country.
