Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has departed from Istanbul on Saturday after completing talks with Turkish officials.

Prior to his departure, Premier Jiabao came together with Turkish State Minister Zafer Çağlayan and Turkish businesspeople in a meeting at the Conrad Hotel.

Speaking at the meeting, Premier Jiabao said that the Chinese government wished to erect a Chinese Investment Industrial Zone in İstanbul or at an other Turkish location.

At the same time, we will welcome a decision of the Turkish government to establish an industrial zone in Xinjiang region, Jiabao said.

China will provide the necessary financial assistance for mutual projects, Jiabao also said.

Speaking to reporters after meeting with Jiabao in İstanbul, Çağlayan said that Turkey was a trustable country in which investments could take place.

"Within this frame, we expect Chinese companies to make giant investments in Turkey. They will make huge and serious investments," Çağlayan said.

Premier Jiabao was in Turkey upon an invitation by his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
