Ankara’s Rock Station unleashes 13th edition

Around 20 Turkish rock acts, among them such veterans as Erkin Koray and Moğollar, will be taking to the stage this weekend in the Turkish capital’s 13-year-old rock festival, news agencies have reported.
The Rock Station Festival 2010 is set to take place on Friday and Saturday at a special festival ground to be erected at the Cepa shopping mall in Ankara.

The festival is introducing a novelty in its 13th edition with an amateur rock music competition that is being held during the run-up to the festival. The finals of will be held on Friday, when the 10 finalists will perform live before the competition’s judges and festivalgoers to claim the title of winner, which comes with a studio recording and album release prize. Other bands slated to perform during the festival include Whisky, Black Tooth, None Shall Return, Richter, Akademik Uyarı and Keti, the Anatolia news agency reported last week.
