TL 6.99 billion surplus in cash balance in August

Turkey’s cash balance registered a surplus of some TL 6.99 billion in August, the Undersecretariat of the Treasury said in a statement on Wednesday.
According to the statement Turkey collected about TL 29.4 billion in cash revenues over the past month, whereas its cash expenditure remained at around TL 22.6 billion. Regarding its expenditure, the country spent TL 19.5 billion on servicing its debt and a further TL 3.1 billion on meeting interest payments. Privatization and funds revenue was realized at over TL 252 million for the same period. After payments were reduced, the country’s net foreign and domestic borrowings were recorded at TL 2.3 billion and TL 2.1 billion, respectively.
