Actors from the Antalya State Theater (ADT) will hit the road for the Czech Republic this month for a stint as part of the Divadlo International Theater Festival in Pilsen.
The company will present their Turkish-language production of Hungarian playwright György Spiro’s “Kvartet” (Quartet) in the festival, which will mark its 18th year from Sept. 15 to 23, the Anatolia news agency reported on Friday.Translated into Turkish by Naci Güngörmüş with the title “Dört Köşe Dünya,” the ADT production is directed by Esen Özman. The play, which had a successful run in January during the ADT’s 2010 season, juxtaposes socialism and capitalism through the story of a couple whose monotonous life is interrupted by an unexpected guest. ADT will stage the play on Sept. 18.
