Number of consumer loan users reach almost 10 million

The number of Turkish citizens who have received consumer loans have reached 9,826,815 and the total amount of their loans was recorded as 102.48 billion TL (approx. 67.86 billion USD) as of June 2010.
According to the web site of the Banks Association of Turkey (TBB), 2,022,405 individuals received consumer loans worth 24.75 billion TL (approx. 16.39 billion USD) between April and June 2010.
The number of individuals who have received consumer loans between April and June has increased by 23 percent when compared with the same term last year.
Between April and June, 58 percent of all loans received constituted consumer loans, 30 percent involved residential loans while 8 percent involved automobile loans.
