The TZOB report for monthly price changes in agricultural products, released on Sunday for July, highlighted that the price of legumes rose 269 percent from producers to sellers. Rice prices increased 167 percent as they moved from paddy to market shelves, and dried agricultural products rose 282 percent as they made their way to the end consumer, the TZOB report illustrated. Animal products rose 203 percent from the farm to the table.
The report also stated that the market price of peaches saw the highest increase in July, while long green peppers ranked at the bottom of the list. As of July, the market price of five products remained unchanged, while the price of 10 products fell. The price tags for 14 products increased.
As for producer prices, on the other hand, seven goods saw no change, 13 enjoyed a decline and another seven registered a rise. Peaches were again at the top of the list and were followed by lemons. Potatoes were the product that saw the highest rate of decline in price with 41.4 percent, the report read.
