The UKKSA, which opened its doors on Monday, boasts workshops on a wide range of topics, such as painting, sculpture, glassblowing, ceramics, traditional handcrafts, photography, cinema and printmaking, the Anatolia news agency reported.Founded by the local Culture and Art Society of Knidos, the academy is located in the nearby village of Yaka. Nevzat Metin, the institute’s director, said he has finally realized a dream of 30 years with the establishment of the UKKSA.
In addition to workshops, the academy also has a library, exhibition halls and lodging. There are no restrictions on admission to classes in the academy and everybody is welcome to attend courses, which are taught by established artists, according to the Anatolia news agency.
