Turkish banking sector's assets reaches TL879.3 billion in May

Turkish banking sector's size of assets reached a value of  TL879.3 billion(approx. 560.1 billion USD) at the end of May, 2010, Turkey's Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK) said on Friday.

BDDK announced Friday figures pertaining to the Turkish banking sector.

In the past one year, the size of assets of the Turkish banking sector increased by 134.1 billion TL (approx. 85.4 billion USD), the BDDK said.

Among the asset items were loans worth TL439.3 billion (approx. 279.8 billion USD) and stocks worth TL277.2 billion  (approx. 176.6 billion USD), the BDDK said.

The Turkish banking sector's profit increased by 13.9 percent in May when compared to the same month last year and reached TL10.3 billion (approx. 6.6 billion USD), the BDDK also said.
