21 June 2010 / THE ANATOLIA NEWS AGENCY, ASTANA
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu said on Monday that Turkey and Kazakhstan agreed on a joint action plan that would be applied following the referendum on constitution in Kyrgyzstan on June 27.

In a brief statement to journalists after his meeting with Foreign Minister Kanat Saudabayev of Kazakhstan in Astana, Davutoğlu said Turkey and Kazakhstan should jointly coordinate the assistance to Kyrgyzstan.

Davutoğlu said Turkey and Kazakhstan discussed on which areas Turkey and Kazakhstan could assist Kyrgyzstan in terms of politics, diplomacy, economy and security. "Details of the plan will be shared with the other friendly countries after necessary studies are completed," he noted.

Referring to Turkey's comprehensive assistance activities, Davutoğlu said he informed Kazakh executives about talks of Fatih Ceylan, Turkey's Special Representative to Kyrgyzstan, with Kyrgyz officials last week.

Davutoğlu said he invited foreign ministers of Central Asian countries to Turkey in August, and expressed Turkey's readiness to exert any efforts for Kyrgyzstan.

Turkish foreign minister said Azerbaijan-Armenia conflict, Upper Karabakh as well as Afghanistan-Kabul Conference were discussed as Kazakhstan holds rotating presidency of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

Kazakh Foreign Minister Saudabayev said Turkey and Kazakhstan should exert joint efforts regarding the incidents in Kyrgyzstan.

Davutoğlu later met Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

Turkish foreign minister relayed Turkish President Abdullah Gül's message to Nazarbayev during the meeting that was closed to the press.

Davutoğlu departed from Kazakhstan following his talks.
