Other reasons why linen is special are that it doesn’t harm nature and it is sturdier than cotton. Not only for nature lovers, fashion lovers who like to dress well and be comfortable at the same time will also find linen appealing.
We see a new generation of soft and functional linen designs appearing in the summer collections of popular brands. This season there are many surprising lines, cuts and colors that are different from the traditional form of linen. Aside from the straight classic cuts, there are more modern suits that give men a more dynamic appearance at work. While half-lined and unlined linen jackets are at the forefront of this season’s trends, the tight, small collar, short sleeve, fitted, one-button jackets continue to be in style this summer. Linen instead of silk-wool blended jackets are going to make a mark on this season, where lightweight fabric is the material of choice.
Linen used for feminine cuts
Of course, jackets and suits are not the only outfits where linen is used. There are also many stylish dresses made from this special fabric. Linen with minimalist graphic prints is also attracting much attention. Linen dresses that combine the 1960s with modern cuts promise to give women an elegant look with their straight and simple cuts. The designs that feature boat necks and crew necks have impressive straight contours and unbent cuts. The prints feature a dance of colors and do not contain small details. The handmade or woven designs are very vibrant, coming in colors such as orange, black, blue, pink mixed with green and the essential white and beige. Minimalist linen dresses are also appropriate for overweight women, and these dresses can be worn with flats, solid-color scarves and pearl accessories for the office and with high heels and metal accessories for special events.
Linen shirts are also a hot item this summer. The shirts, which both men and women can wear, come in attractive colors that make you look very chic. You can find the shirts in white, ecru, cream, blue, red, powder tones, ice gray, orange, lilac and khaki. You can also come across both classic cuts and athletic cuts. Faded fabrics with smaller collars are generally chosen for a sportier look while solid colors are preferred for classic shirts. Linen shirts in pastel colors bring out the charismatic side of fashion.
A multi-purpose fabric
We see linen being used in everything from shoes to accessories. Linen used in sandals is especially appealing to those who like the bohemian style. The harmony between ethnic prints and vibrant colors on platform shoes that feature linen straps is also dazzling to the eye. Linen purses are also a great accessory for women. I personally recommend purses made of metal or of a metallic color to contrast the natural look of linen. Purses designed with faded metal accessories attract attention. These designs, which young women love, oftentimes have a military or safari style. This summer scarves, an essential piece in any woman’s wardrobe, are neither silk nor cotton but linen. Since they allow your skin to breath, linen is going to be the scarf material of choice this summer. Linen scarves are popular not only because they are easy to use but also because they give a woman an aristocratic look. Striped scarves are more classic and aristocratic while solid color scarves are sophisticated and patterned ones have a bohemian feel. Then there are scarves that are made of linen and lace. Cute and feminine crinkled scarves are great with denim. In addition to linen scarves, which are being used instead of ties, a nightmare for some men, there are also contemporary linen handkerchiefs that can be used to make jackets more stylish. With a bold-color linen handkerchief, you can look both fashionable and charismatic.
