Fixed line operator Türk Telekom will sign fiber optic contracts with Jordan, Syria and Saudi Arabia on June 16 as part of its acquisition of Invitel, a source told Reuters on Thursday.
Türk Telekom bought central and eastern European data capacity and services firm Invitel International and its units for 221 million euros ($297 million) in May. The same source said that Türk Telekom expects to sign complementary deals in the Middle East that would expand the company’s market share in data traffic between Europe, the Middle East and Turkey.
