Three professors were killed when the car they were traveling in went off the road in Bolu on Wednesday.
According to initial reports, the accident was caused by speeding. The professors were heading from İstanbul to Ankara to visit friends. Ahmet Hızal, İstanbul University’s forestry faculty head, and Asuman Efe, a professor in the same department, died at the scene of the accident. BESA construction company CEO Professor Necdet Aral, who was also general director of the İstanbul Gas Distribution Industry and Trade Inc. (İGDAŞ), was taken to Gerede State Hospital but died despite doctors’ efforts.
