Turkish jazz saxophonist İlhan Erşahin, pop singer Kenan Doğulu, folk singer Şükriye Tutkun and the rock band Duman will take to the stage in New York City this summer for the second edition of the “İstanbulive:
The Sounds and Colors of Turkey” concert, the event’s organizers said this week. The concert, scheduled for July 3 in Central Park, comes as part of the annual SummerStage concert series in New York. İstanbulive 2010 will be dedicated to the memory of Arif Mardin, the late Turkish-born US-based record producer. Last year’s İstanbulive concert drew more than 5,000 people, mostly Turks from New York and New Jersey.
