Ata Yatırım, T-Bank finalize service provision agreement

3 June 2010 / TODAY’S ZAMAN, İSTANBUL
Turkey’s T-Bank and Ata Yatırım have concluded an agreement for the provision of brokerage services, the two parties announced on Wednesday in İstanbul.
According to the agreement Ata Yatırım will provide capital markets brokerage services at T-Bank branches. Speaking to reporters, T-Bank General Manager Dinçer Alpman said the new project could serve as an example to some banks that want to offer such services with independent firms without having to establish their own investment companies. Noting that they expect to share Ata Yatırım’s experience in capital markets with T-Bank customers, Alpman said both parties would reap the benefits of the partnership. Recalling that they had been looking to find a partner company to undertake T-Bank’s investment banking services since their establishment in 2007, the bank manager said they expected to diversify services for customers. “We are planning to start providing our customers services with private investment advisors in 15 offices before the end of this year,” he stated. He said they hope the partnership with Ata grows in the months to come, adding that it was a long-term project. Alpman said T-Bank has 27 branches and is expected to increase this number to 45 in the middle term.
