Speech Bubbles aims to support charities benefiting children and education. Everyone in the group works on a voluntary basis, donating their time, services and expertise to give something back to those underprivileged children who share their city.
The latest performance is “The Wizard of Oz,” featuring songs and dances from the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film such as “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” “We’re Off to See the Wizard” and the scarecrow’s lament -- “If I Only Had a Brain.” Join Dorothy and her pup, Toto, as they are whisked from Kansas to a land beyond their wildest dreams. The show will also share some insight into why it is that Turks seem to be obsessed with the idea of wearing slippers indoors.
Although Speech Bubbles pens its plays toward an audience that is learning English, they provide a great opportunity for those who are interested in watching an English play.
Some of the projects which Speech Bubbles is currently involved in are raising funds for the restructuring of Iraq, the Mother-Child Education Program (MOCEF), the Turkey Street Children Fund (TSÇV) and the British Community Commission Fund for the Victims of the British Consulate and HSBC Bank Bombings.
