A fire broke out at İstanbul’s Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa dock in Beşiktaş early Sunday morning, causing extensive damage to the ferry terminal.
Ferries will depart from another dock located 150 meters from the damaged structure.

The fire was extinguished in an hour by firefighters and Directorate General of Coastal Security vessels. Two ferries that were sailing in the direction of the dock changed their routes after seeing the blaze.

According to a written statement released by İstanbul Seabuses and Fast Ferries Inc. (İDO), the fire broke out due to electrical problems at about 6 a.m. There were no injuries, but the fire damaged the ferry terminal, which is expected to be reopened after undergoing repairs.
