Eight high school students were injured, four seriously, when two cars racing on an Ankara road collided with a retaining wall on Thursday.
The accident occurred at about 8 a.m. on Thursday after two cars, one driven by Fuat Sevinç and the other driven by an unidentified person, crashed into a retaining wall. While one of the cars flipped and landed in a garden after hitting the wall, the other car crashed into the wall straight on. The students were reportedly studying at the Etlik and Keçiören 19 Mayıs high schools. Eyewitnesses notified police, and an ambulance was dispatched to the crash site. The injured students were taken to nearby hospitals. An indentation was seen in the ground of the garden where one of the cars landed. Eyewitnesses said the cars were racing before the accident occurred.
