6-year-old kid killed in sink collapse

A kindergarten student, Efe Boz, died after a sink collapsed on him at his school in İstanbul’s Maltepe district on Wednesday. The 6-year-old boy was a student at Maltepe’s Dumlupınar Primary School’s kindergarten.
According to news reports, while Boz was washing his hands in the school’s restroom, a sink suddenly collapsed on top of him, severing an artery. Found by his schoolmates and teacher, Efe was immediately rushed to the Kartal Koşuyolu Specialized Research and Teaching Hospital. Despite doctors’ efforts, Boz could not be saved.
The İstanbul Provincial Education Directorate released a statement on the accident, saying they are saddened by the tragic event and expressing condolences to the Boz family. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
