Sarar Giyim, one of Turkey’s leading clothing companies, has made the highest offer in the final phase of the tender for the privatization of the Haraklı-Hendek, Pazarköy-Akyazı and Bozüyük hydroelectric power plants, which are owned by the state-run Electricity Generation Holding Company (EÜAŞ).
The company bid $5.77 million for the plants in the fifth round, technically winning the tender, the Anatolia news agency said on Wednesday. Divided into 19 groups, the tender for the privatization of 52 hydroelectric power plants owned by EÜAŞ attracted sizeable interest from domestic and foreign investors. The second group, the Haraklı-Hendek, Pazarköy-Akyazı and Bozüyük hydroelectric power plants, received nine bids, the Privatization Administration (ÖİB) announced in a written statement in March. The tender is scheduled to be completed on May 21.
