11 May 2010 / TODAY’S ZAMAN, İSTANBUL
A minibus parked in front of the British Consulate General in İstanbul’s Beyoğlu district for a long time raised suspicions and caused widespread panic on Monday.
On Nov. 20, 2003, 27 people, including British Consul-General Roger Short, were killed in a suicide attack on the consulate, and many others were injured in the blast.

After security guards realized that the minibus with the license plate number 22 HD 521 was parked in front of the consulate for a suspiciously long period of time, they informed, police officers of their concerns. Police officers and a bomb squad arrived at the scene immediately. A motorcycle and approximately one kilogram of sulfur were found inside the minibus.
