It is estimated that the government will hire 100,000 new recruits by the end of the year.
The Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) will be selecting the new personnel between May 17 and 26 in accordance with the needs of public institutions as set out by the State Personnel Directorate. Graduates with four-year university degrees will fill 8,982 of the positions, whereas 3,215 will be picked from the graduates of two-year vocational college programs. The remaining 1,725 posts will be filled by high school graduates.
Of these new civil servants, 12,314 will be employed in state institutions. The rest will work for State Economic Enterprises (KİTs). The highest number of new civil servants, 6,693, will start working in general administrative services. This is to be followed by the health services with 2,586 new personnel and technical services with 2,495. Twenty-eight will join the public education and training services, while 145 others will join the legal services. Public ancillary services will employ a total of 367 people in the May recruitment program. These numbers do not include the appointment of new teachers.
