A great way to start a sunny spring day is by having breakfast or a meal somewhere with a nice garden. And if you can find a place like that next to the Bosporus, then that is just icing on the cake.
Secret Passion Café-Restaurant, which opened its doors to customers in Kuruçeşme near the Bosporus, is sure to be a popular place for those who prefer unique venues. At Secret Passion Café-Restaurant, you have both the sea in front of you and a park filled with a variety of trees. You can have delicious meals brought to your table under the horse chestnut tree. What more could a person want? Offering delicious Italian and Turkish cuisine, Secret Passion Café-Restaurant has close to 100 dishes on its menu. There are varieties of pasta and pizza on the one hand and casseroles and kebabs on the other. I chose two dishes, one from the West and one from the East. And a bowl of fresh greens for the middle. The beef steak made with mushroom sauce was truly the best steak I’ve ever had. Everything from the flavor to the cooking method to the sauce was just perfect. The restaurant’s owner, Mehmet Kaya, says the meat is from Çanakkale’s Biga region and underlines that taste and hygiene are two very important factors in their business. The fettuccine alfredo I ordered was the ideal complement to the main dish. The restaurant also offers refreshing freshly squeezed fruit juices and cocktails.
In addition to the different dishes mentioned above, I would highly recommend trying the köy kahvaltısı (village-style breakfast). The köy kahvaltısı includes 20 different dishes and unlimited tea. One of the good aspects of the breakfast is that even if you are five people, you can still order a breakfast menu that is designed for three people. Breakfast dishes are available from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the weekend and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays.
The alcohol-free restaurant has 13 friendly employees serving customers. Customers are welcome to design their own drinks, salads and pizzas. Open until 1 a.m. every day, Secret Passion Café-Restaurant has a garden that can accommodate up to 250 and an indoor section that can accommodate up to 150 people. The restaurant also has two private rooms decorated with mosaics that can be reserved for meetings and other gatherings.
There are no parking problems at Secret Passion Cafe-Restaurant. There’s no fee for parking in the parking lot, which can accommodate up to 150 cars. It has two elegantly furnished private rooms. The bathrooms, prayer rooms and the kitchen are very clean.
It’s an ideal venue to enjoy the breeze from the Bosporus during the hot summer season. The music at the restaurant is mainly foreign, but that kind of music may cause a headache if it is played all the time. That’s why playing instrumental pieces during breakfast and in the evenings may be a better option. The dishes may appear expensive at first, but when you compare it to other places near the Bosporus, you’ll see that the prices are average.
