Number of companies founded in Turkey rises in March

The number of companies, which were founded in Turkey, increased 18.84 percent in March when compared to February, 2010.

On the other hand, the number of companies which were closed in March dropped 8.60 percent, noted the Union of Chambers & Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) on Thursday.

The number of founded companies rose 37.62 percent in March 2010 when compared to March 2009, while the number of closed companies rose 23.70 percent in March 2010 when compared to March 2009.

TOBB stated that the number of opened companies increased 29.02 percent in the first three months of 2010 when compared to the same period of 2009. The number of closed companies also rose 10.06 percent in the mentioned period.

A total of 14,288 companies were founded in the first three months of 2010, while 253 companies with foreign partners were opened in March 2010.
