FM Davutoğlu departs from Iran for Serbia

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu departed from Tehran on Tuesday after completing talks with Iranian officials and is on his way to Serbia.

Minister Davutoğlu had separate meetings with Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, Secretary General of Iran's Supreme National Council and chief nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili, Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadi-Nejad and Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani.

Among the topics discussed between Davutoğlu and Iranian authorities was Iran's nuclear energy activities.

Both Turkey and Iran emphasized the right of all countries to make peaceful use of nuclear energy and their opposition to nuclear weapons wherever they may be during talks between Davutoğlu and Iranian officials.

Davutoğlu and Iranian authorities declared that the most effective way to resolve issues was diplomacy.

Minister Davutoğlu will be in Belgrade for a consultative meeting between Turkey, Spain and Serbia.
