Teahen blasts White Sox to win in Toronto

Mark Teahen smashed a ninth-inning homer and drove in the winning run in the 11th to give the Chicago White Sox an 8-7 win over the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League on Monday.
With Chicago down by a run in the ninth, Teahen belted a solo homer off reliever Jason Frasor over the left field fence to tie the score, then followed with a triple in the 11th that brought home Omar Vizquel. The win over the Blue Jays (5-2), who were playing their home opener, was Chicago’s (3-4) first in Toronto since June 1, 2007 -- a stretch of 10 games. Other American League results: Kansas City 10, Detroit 5; Texas 4, Cleveland 2, 10 innings; Minnesota 5, Boston 2; Oakland 4, Seattle 0; and Tampa Bay 5, Baltimore 1. In the National League it was: Chicago Cubs 9, Milwaukee 5; Philadelphia 7, Washington 4; St. Louis 5, Houston 0; San Diego 17, Atlanta 2; Cincinnati 6, Florida 5, 10 innings; and San Francisco 9, Pittsburgh 3.
