Turkey’s Rixos Hotels opens new resort in Libya

30 March 2010 / TODAY’S ZAMAN, İSTANBUL
Rixos completed the construction of the Rixos Al Nasr in six months, and the facility opened its doors to guests in mid-March, the new hotel’s Deputy Manager Şükrü Koçak told the Anatolia news agency.
“Libya has a 2,200-kilometer-long coastline in addition to a beautiful sea, sun, beaches and historic treasures. Hotels are the only missing element in this country, and this is why our group wanted to take advantage of the potential,” Koçak said. He noted that a majority of the hotel’s personnel were brought from Antalya and that close to 40 percent of their customers are Turkish businessmen. Rixos Hotels was established in Antalya in 2000. In addition to numerous properties in Antalya, the group currently has resorts in the southwestern province of Muğla and the Central Anatolian provinces of Konya and Ankara. Rixos runs hotels abroad in Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Croatia, Dubai and Bahrain.
