Okur-less Jazz still too strong for Hornets

Paul Millsap had 22 points and 15 rebounds, C.J. Miles scored 19 points, and Deron Williams added 17 points and 11 assists as the Utah beat the New Orleans Hornets 106-86 in their NBA game at Salt Lake City on Saturday night.
The Jazz, without starters Mehmet Okur (stomach virus) of Turkey and Andrei Kirilenko (strained left calf), were still too strong for the Hornets. Carlos Boozer played less than 16 minutes and had 10 points and four rebounds. The Jazz pulled away with a 17-1 run at the end of the second quarter and led by 35 in the second half. Marcus Thornton led New Orleans with 19 points. At East Rutherford, New Jersey, Chris Bosh scored 36 points as the Toronto Raptors won 100-90 to hand the New Jersey Nets their seventh straight loss and 13th in a row at home. Turkish forward Hedo Türkoğlu added 13 points with seven rebounds as four assists the Raptors. Other NBA results: Chicago 98, Philadelphia 84; Miami 77, Charlotte 71; Memphis 123, Golden State 107; Milwaukee 102, Denver 97; and Boston 102, Dallas 93.
