Vakıfbank appoints Kalkan as new manager

The state-owned Vakıfbank on Friday announced that the bank has appointed Süleyman Kalkan as its new general manager.The bank said former manager Bilal Karaman handed over his post to Kalkan as of Friday. Karaman has served as Vakıf general manager since June 2005.
Kalkan started his career at Türkiye İş Bankası in 1983 upon his graduation from Ankara University. He has been a member of the executive board of the Turkish Industry and Development Bank (TSKB) since May 2009. Vakıfbank enjoyed a robust 66 percent increase in net profit in 2009 over the previous year, while bank assets grew by 24.2 percent, to TL 64.8 billion, in the same period.
