Interviews with companies bidding in the tender will kick off next week and last for four weeks. Sources said that the final bargaining for the tender will be held following the end of the interviews, probably in the second week of April.
The tender has seen high interest from both domestic and foreign investors and has received a total of 615 bids. The plants to be offered in the tender were divided into 19 groups. According to a written statement released by the Privatization Administration (ÖİB) last month, some of the groups receiving a high number of bids are as follows: The first group comprising the İznik-Dereköy, İnegöl-Cerrah and M. Kemalpaşa-Suuçtu plants received a total of 22 bids; the second group, Haraklı-Hendek, Pazarköy-Akyazı and Bozüyük, received nine bids; the Kayaköy plant received a total of 88 bids; and Kovada 1 and Kovada 2, together, received 15 bids.
