A senior US State Department official on Thursday said he was unaware of any deal that would keep the Armenian “genocide” resolution from being brought to the full House floor for a vote.
During a daily press briefing, US State Department Acting Deputy Spokesman Gordon Duguid commented on remarks made by Assistant Secretary of State Philip Gordon about a speculated-upon deal in Congress over the Armenian “genocide” resolution, which was passed in the US House Foreign Affairs Committee on March 4.
Duguid said he was not aware of any deal on the resolution. “That is something that Congress will decide,” Duguid noted. “I am unaware of any deal.”
