Investing businesses prop up Turkish employment in 2010

Although many firms chose to dismiss workers during the global financial crisis, firms who saw the crisis as an opportunity and are continuing to invest are still looking for new employees. According to Today’s Zaman’s research, the firms listed below are looking to hire a total of 110,000 individuals this year:

Shopping centers: Forty-five new shopping centers will open their doors this year, resulting in the creation of more than 50,000 jobs.

Acıbadem Health Group: One thousand new employees will be hired as nurses, health workers, laboratory technicians and marketing and information technology specialists.

Aşçıoğlu Group: The group is planning to hire 1,000 new workers.

Avea: The company is expecting to hire 450 to 500 employees this year.

Aymar: Aymar will hire 120 people directly and 800 more indirectly through its subsidiaries.

Boydak Group: The group plans to hire 400 blue collar workers and 120 white collar workers.

CMC: Four hundred sales representatives will be taken on this year.

Collezione: This clothing company will add 810 employees to its ranks.

Denizbank: This bank will hire 550 additional employees for its 25 new branches between 2010 and 2011.

Domino’s Pizza: The pizza chain will hire 1,000 new workers for its restaurants this year.

Electro World: This electronics retailer will hire 700 new individuals this year.

Finansbank: This bank is planning to open 50 new branches this year and employ an additional 1,500 people.

Garanti Bankası: In 2010 one of the leading banks in Turkey will add 800 new employees to the mix.

Halkbank: The state-owned bank will be hiring an additional 1,250 staff this year.

IC Investments Holding: The holding will hire 2,500 new employees for its energy and tourism projects.

İş Bankası: At least 1,500 new members of staff are planned to be hired this year.

Kiler Group: By opening an additional 30 stores this year, the group aims to hire another 1,000 workers.

Koç Holding: The giant of the Turkish business world plans to hire 2,500 more people this year.

Komşu Fırın: This bakery hopes to hire 900 more individuals in İstanbul and the surrounding regions.

LC Waikiki: This clothing company will hire 100 new store managers and 500 full-time and 750 part-time sales representatives.

Makyol Construction: Five thousand new positions will be opened up for domestic and international projects.

McDonalds: The world-famous fast food chain will hire 1,000 new people this year.

Medical Park Group: In 2010 the hospital group will employ 1,300 more individuals in line with its new investments.

Renaissance Construction: Three thousand individuals will be hired for its projects abroad.

Sabancı Holding: Commercial giant Sabancı will hire 2,800 new workers in 2010 for its finance, energy, retail and cement divisions.

Şok Markets: This retail chain will hire 3,000 individuals for various positions throughout its company.

Tab Food: This company will create 1,500 new jobs in its Burger King, Sbarro and Popeye fast-food restaurants.

Tezken Yapı: Nine hundred staff will be hired for its new retail stores.

Tesco Kipa: This company’s new stores will lead to approximately 2,000 new jobs.

Turkcell ve Global Bilgi: The mobile telecommunications giant will be hiring 1,100 people in 2010.

Türk Telekom: This fixed telephone line operator will continue its 2,000-person hiring spree in 2010.

Vatan Computer: It will hire 800 individuals.

Yapı Kredi: One thousand people will be hired as this banking giant opens new branches throughout Turkey.

Ziraat Bankası: This state bank will hire an additional 2,500 workers in 2010 for its new branches.
