16 March 2010 / NAZLI ILICAK SABAH,
Who was the person that notified the police about the munitions-laden truck? I wonder whether somebody wanted to disparage the police and the government. Is there any possibility that this was for purposes of propaganda? Or will the hand grenades really be used?
Would the truck full of munitions be covered up as it was seized? There are reasons why we are hesitant. Let me explain: A decision by the Ankara public prosecutor has gained attention. 1. The license plate, make and driver of the truck were not specified in a report prepared by Special Forces Commander Maj. Gen. Servet Yörük. 2. The number and kind of munitions were also not explained in the report. 3. While the hand grenades in the truck had serial numbers, they did not have any serial numbers in the report. Munitions were being carried by an unmarked vehicle, and it was said that the reason was so as to not to attract attention. If one is supposed to carry munitions protected vehicles, why would one not want to attract notice? It is impossible to understand this situation.
