One soldier killed, one injured in Hakkari attack
15 March 2010 / TODAY’S ZAMAN, İSTANBUL
According to preliminary reports, a corporal has died and another soldier was wounded following an ambush by terrorists in Dağlıca, a neighborhood of the Yüksekova district in Hakkari province.
The terrorists were reportedly from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) but the details of the attack were not available at the time Today’s Zaman went to press. The identity of the two soldiers concerned is unknown. There was an exchange of fire as security forces responded to the attack.
