The festival will unroll its 12th edition on March 27, World Theater Day, as in previous years.Running through April 28 in the southern province of Adana, the festival will feature performances by three Turkish State Theater companies, one municipal theater, three private companies and 10 theater companies from abroad.
The festival will open March 27 with a special performance by Italy’s Studio Festi on the historic Taşköprü over the Seyhan River. The spectacle comes as part of the festival’s bid to increase performing arts’ reach to wider audiences by adding open-air performances to its lineup. Last year’s festival drew 20,000 theatergoers.
Tickets for the festival, set to go on sale Saturday, will be priced between TL 10 for adults and TL 7.50 for students. Tickets for children’s plays will be TL 3. Performances will take place at the Hacı Ömer Sabancı Cultural Center, Merkez Park, Taşköprü, Atatürk Park and the Adana Train Station.
