“They came at a time when no one wanted to come to Georgia. They came during dreadful times and never left,” the president said.State Minister Hayati Yazıcı, Rize Mayor Halil Bakırcı, Artvin Provincial Governor Mustafa Yemlihalıoğlu and Georgian Finance Minister Kaha Baindurashvili were among the participants during the opening ceremony of a new building of a Çağlar Educational Institutions high school. Stressing that Turkey and Georgia are two friendly countries, Saakashvili said he is pleased to see the number of such educational institutions in Georgia. Noting that their primary aim is to integrate the Georgian educational system into the world educational system, Saakashvili said the activities of their Turkish friends in this sphere are very important to them. “When they came here, it was a bad time. No one shook their hands. I clearly remember how much opposition there was in the country against them. People defined them with terrible labels. Yet look; they established the best schools in the country. These schools educate wonderful people, which the Turkish-Georgian friendship will be based on. I thank them for all they have done for my country,” Saakashvili said.
Speaking following the cutting of the red ribbon, Yazıcı said he congratulates people who invest in such activities. “Çağlar Educational Institutions are heavily investing in this country. They also have an International Black Sea University here. Students prefer these educational institutions because their level is very high,” Yazıcı said.
