Completing her master’s degree at Erciyes University’s public relations department, Küçük is preparing for the exams that she will need to pass in order to become a doctoral candidate. Currently working as a public relations officer at a private university preparatory school, Küçük is trying to reach the desired level in a foreign language needed for the program she hopes to be accepted into. Speaking to the Anatolia news agency, Küçük said she was unable to continue her education after finishing primary school since her family decided that she would get married. “I am not angry at my family; maybe it was necessary then,” she said. Although she took a 20-year break, Küçük said she never lost her faith in continuing her education.
Küçük completed her secondary education and high school through distance learning. She then received a degree in economics from Anadolu University in economy major through distance learning, too. “That year my daughter Ayşe and her husband completed their doctorate and masters degree, respectively. We all wore the graduation cap. That portrait was truly an honor,” Küçük said.
Never losing faith in education, Küçük then completed her master’s degree at Erciyes University. “Now my only goal is to hold a doctorate and become a good teacher,” Küçük said.
She also said with the support of her daughter, she wrote a book called “Annemin krizleri ve kızımın riskleri” (Crises of my mother and risks of my daughter). A scientific article she had written was also published in one of her daughter’s books. Noting that her love of education can be seen in her children, Küçük said her daughter Ayşe completed her doctorate and that her daughter Alev and son Ali completed their masters degree. Also greatly interested in poetry, Küçük has written nearly 200 poems. She plans to publish her poems in the near future.
