In the second wave of arrests and detentions, many more active duty military officers were taken in. The second wave of the Sledgehammer (Balyoz) operation, or more correctly the criminal prosecution launched into the coup attempt codenamed Sledgehammer.
Opposition newspapers specifically use the phrase “Sledgehammer operation” as if it were not the suspects who were planning to pound a sledgehammer but instead the government who is hammering innocent people with a sledgehammer. They intend to put this into the subconscious of the people. It has been said that there will be a third wave in which suspects will be civilians. Obviously, these civilians will not be a butcher’s apprentice, a barber, an apartment manager, a grocer or a cigarette lighter filler, etc., because those poor people tend to keep their reactions to the ballot box even if they are not content with the government. Who are these civilians? Can’t it be that they are some pro-military civilians? Those who pour all sorts of insults and humiliation on us?
