A 66-year-old woman was found dead in her house yesterday, reportedly as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning from a leak in a coal-burning stove, in the central province of Konya after taking her grandchildren out of the room to protect them from the gas.
Münevver Çetin was reportedly sleeping in the same room as her grandchildren when she realized that the room was filling with gas leaking from the stove. She was able to move the children to another room before being overcome by the poisonous gas. Her relatives arrived at the house in the morning and found the woman dead. They immediately called health teams. Çetin’s body was taken to the morgue at Konya Numune Hospital.
