Two people killed in İstanbul gunfight

Two people died and one was injured in a gunfight in İstanbul’s Kadıköy district on Tuesday.
Ayhan Özbayhan and his girlfriend were at the Home Store café in Kadıköy when he started to argue with Muhittin Yaşar and Yaşar Aktaş, who are responsible for the café’s security and parking area. Özbayhan left the café and returned with a gun, shooting at Yaşar and Aktaş, who returned fire.
Yaşar and Aktaş were transferred to a hospital by taxi before emergency medical teams arrived at the scene. Özbayhan was treated in the cafe by paramedics, but could not be revived and died at the scene. Aktaş died after arriving at the hospital. The bodies of Özbayhan and Aktaş were sent to the Council of Forensic Medicine (ATK) for autopsies. An investigation into the incident is under way.
