Hydroelectric plants tender attracts large number of bids

The tender for the privatization of 52 hydroelectric power plants owned by the state-run Electricity Generation Holding Company (EÜAŞ) has received a total of 615 bids.
The tender had seen high interest from both domestic and foreign investors by the close of bidding last Friday. Plants to be offered in the tender were divided into 19 separate groups. According to a written statement released by the Privatization Administration (ÖİB) on Tuesday, some of the groups receiving a high number of bids are as follows: the first group comprising the İznik-Dereköy, İnegöl-Cerrah and M. Kemalpaşa-Suuçtu plants received a total of 22 bids; the second group, Haraklı-Hendek, Pazarköy-Akyazı and Bozüyük received nine bids; the Kayaköy plant received a total of 88 bids; and Kovada 1 and Kovada 2, together, received 15 bids.
