At a joint press conference held by Türk Telekom, Association of Automotive Parts and Components Manufacturers (TAYSAD) and the Automotive Industry Association (OSD), Türk Telekom announced that it had obtained ENX certification and would now be connecting the automotive industry to Europe through a new service called TT ENX. The new service will be provided in partnership with OSD and TAYSAD.
The service provides a secure virtual private network (VPN) connection that will allow the automotive sector to communicate quickly about critical developments, purchases and production data. The network also enables members to access financing, insurance, media and advertising opportunities. ENX currently has more than 500 automotive manufacturers and dealers using its network and is expected to help increase competition in the sector. Türk Telekom Vice President of Operations Celalettin Dinçer said at the briefing that his company was excited at the prospect of providing a service through their network that would interconnect automotive sectors and create value.
OSD Secretary-General Ercan Tezer said the TT ENX service would provide logistical and communication integration for the automotive industry in the region, stressing that the service would provide the rapid transfer of data between parties. He added that the OSD would approve members to use the network.
TAYSAD Secretary-General Özlem Gülşen said TT ENX would not only be useful for the automotive sector but would also provide benefits to other subsidiary sectors and the greater Turkish economy. Six operators are currently ENX certified. They are Türk Telekom, British Telecom, Orange Business Services, T-Systems, Telefonica and Verizon.
