According to results from the Life Satisfaction Survey of the Turkish Statistics Institute (TurkStat), which polled citizens on how satisfied they were with public services, people became more dissatisfied with services provided by the SGK and the judicial arm of the government.
The number of people who were satisfied with services provided by the SGK hit the lowest levels in the last five years at 58.9 percent, down 12.6 percentage points from 2008. The number of people who answered that they were unsatisfied with the services provided reached 10.8 percent, up 1.4 percentage points from 2008.
The other public service that saw a decrease in the share of satisfied citizens was judicial services, decreasing 6.6 percentage points from 2008, to reach a dismally low 38.7 percent -- the lowest in at least six years.
The share of those satisfied with education, health and police services increased over 2008, however. Those who stated that they were satisfied with educational services rose to 58.1 percent from 56.9 in 2008. Those dissatisfied with educational services decreased significantly, from 23.3 percent to 19.7 percent. Satisfaction with health services also saw an increase from 63.4 percent in 2008 to 65.1 percent last year.
Those satisfied with police services also increased to 77.1 percent, from 75.9 percent, with the share dissatisfied decreasing proportionally, from 11.2 to 10.6 percent.
